LED Canopy Lights Project Challenges and Our Solutions
1. Glass Lens & Protective Film Dilemma
Many canopy lights used in food-grade environments are equipped with glass lenses, which require a protective film to prevent contamination caused by breakage. However, adding film typically reduces light transmission and impacts overall system efficiency.
Yistar Solution:
We selected high-transmittance protective films and fine-tuned the drive current to maintain optimal brightness, ensuring both safety and high lighting performance.
2. Compliance with Food-Grade Standards
Most conventional LED canopy lights use outdoor powder coating, which does not meet food industry standards. Strict environments like food processing plants require food-safe finishes.

We applied food-grade powder coating that meets hygiene standards while maintaining the IP65 waterproof level and corrosion resistance.
3. Surge Protection & Driver Customization
The client specified 180W LED Canopy Light output with 10KV surge protection, a configuration rarely available in off-the-shelf canopy lights. We selected the Mean Well XLG-200-H-A driver, but discovered the standard driver box was too small for this solution.
Yistar Solution:
- Conducted research on several driver brands, including MOSO, SOSEN, and Lifud, but their solutions were too large.
- Ultimately, we custom-designed a new driver box to perfectly fit the Mean Well driver and meet thermal and space constraints.
- Ensured all components were compliant and reliable for long-term industrial use
4. Tailored Packaging and Full Documentation
To ensure smooth shipping and installation:
- We customized outer packaging and labels according to client specifications.
- Supplied technical datasheets, installation guides, and compliance certifications in both English and Spanish.
